We thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice for our country!
Our clinic is veteran operated and owned.
We are in-network for TriCare Insurance for patients with Depression.
TriCare Insurance is Available for Patients Experiencing Depression
Our clinic is in-network for TriCare Insurance. Our owner and managing director, Greg Andrews, is a retired Navy SEAL. He knows how the sacrifices that you’ve made for our country can affect not only you but your loved ones as well.
Depression occurs because of events that you experienced during your service. And it’s very common for other conditions to occur simultaneously, such as PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Anxiety.
When you seek help with us for your Depression, our treatment called MeRT, or Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy, can also help with any other problems that you are experiencing.
Our goal at BrainWave Neuro Performance is to offer treatment that is both effective and long-lasting so that you can get your quality of life back. We will do our best to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible, in a warm and compassionate environment.
Greg Andrews’ MeRT Testimony
Brain health is a very personal and important mission for me. During my 20 years of service as a United States Navy SEAL and over 14 combat deployments, I received multiple traumatic brain injuries from explosions.
“Over the next several years, the negative effects became apparent. I struggled with anxiety, depression, confusion, headaches, and sleep issues. I was offered medications to treat the symptoms. However, I wanted to go deeper and get to the root cause to resolve the issues.”
Greg Andrews Found That MeRT was the Treatment He Needed to Help Him Heal
After years of searching, I found the MeRT treatment through the Brain Treatment Center in San Diego, CA. I spent 7 weeks going through MeRT. I learned about what was happening in my brain to cause those symptoms.
“Early into the treatment, I started sleeping through the night after years of broken and unhealthy sleepless nights. After 6 weeks, I noticed a dramatic improvement in the other issues. I finally started to heal and feel like myself again.
“While there, I watched others begin to change, as well as other individuals and colleagues find hope for a better future. This resonated within me and after having a 20-year fulfilling career, I felt I had found another purpose to dedicate myself to, and decided to start my own clinic to help bring wellness to others who are struggling like I once did.”

TriCare Insurance and MeRT Treatment
Because of Greg’s own experiences, he brought the groundbreaking technology of MeRT Treatment to the greater Tucson area so that he could help others who were suffering. He partnered with Dr. Julie Kim, a physician who helped to implement the initial MeRT protocols at the Flagship clinic in Newport Beach.
MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) is a more tailored and sophisticated form of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). It is non-invasive, drug-free, gentle, and painless. We have seen some amazing results from MeRT treatment. * To learn more about this state-of-the-art technology and how it helps with Depression, click here.

What is TriCare?
The United States Defense Health Agency offers an insurance plan called TriCare to active military personnel, veterans, and their families. The FDA approved the TMS equipment to treat Depression and TriCare approved coverage for Depression in 2016.
Realizing the effects of MeRT technology experienced by Greg and many of his peers and colleagues, Greg is proud to bring the technology to the greater Tucson area and has opened his clinic, BrainWave Neuro Performance Center.
Also because of his experience during his active duty with the United States Navy, Greg has prioritized becoming in-network TriCare Insurance for Depression in Tucson.
How TriCare Works
The insurance provider that serves the western region of the US is called TriCare West. TriCare offers three different types of insurance: TriCare Select, TriCare Reserve, and TriCare Prime.
TriCare Reserve and TriCare Select
You don’t need a referral to TriCare if you are suffering from Depression, and have one of these two plans. Just give our New Patient Coordinator a call at 520-783-7227. She can answer all of your questions and get you scheduled for your initial qEEG and consultation with our physician, Dr. Julie Kim. She will get the necessary paperwork filled out for you and we will let you know when you can start your treatment, once approved.
TriCare Prime
If you have TriCare Prime, you will need to first make an appointment with your primary care physician or other provider and request a referral to be treated by us for your Depression. Additionally, please print the required Letter of Attestation. Give this to your primary care provider so that they can send it with their referral for TriCare.
You will likely have additional questions about this, and we are happy to help guide you through the process.

TriCare Prime Coverage for Depression
TriCare covers Depression if it is the primary diagnosis. They also require that you have tried previous treatments (such as medications) that were not effective. Because of this, please have your PCP indicate that “Depression” is your primary diagnosis on their referral.
We realize that there are often other diagnoses that accompany Depression, such as PTSD and Anxiety. But in order to be covered under your TriCare plan, the primary diagnosis needs to be listed as Depression. If you do have other diagnoses, these will show up on your qEEG, and MeRT treatment will address all.
Your Primary Care Provider will submit the Letter of Attestation and referral to TriCare. Please advise your PCP that the referral will also need to indicate our clinic’s and physician’s name. By doing this, TriCare will have the information needed on where to send the letter of approval.

TriCare Approval
For TriCare Prime patients, as soon as we receive the referral from TriCare, we will contact you to confirm approval or denial. If your coverage is approved, we will get your treatment scheduled.
For TriCare Select and TriCare Reserve patients, you do not need an approval from your PCP or TriCare. Simply call our New Patient Coordinator at 520-783-7227 and she will get you on the schedule for your qEEG and consultation. Dr. Kim will meet with you after your consultation, and we will complete all of the paperwork on your behalf to get approval from TriCare.
